The direction Katie was given for this piece was “I like poker”. Myles experienced the loss of his mother, grandmother and a massive life change this year.
Katie used the cards to mark his mother’s birthday and hid many other personal touches while keeping the piece true to his request. The background represents the Vegas strip which is his second home. The cigar label, Katie branded with his dog’s name Millie. RIP
This work was commissioned to be a gift for a beautiful couple in Washington DC. During the initial consult, it was discovered the spouse receiving this painting is visually impaired. Katie wanted to create an experience for her and decided to add a Braille message within the artwork.
Katie contacted the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) to learn how to properly space and create the Braille message.

This work was commissioned to celebrate a favourite landmark Toronto. This piece was made with the intention of highlighting the beauty of Toronto’s multiculturalism and acceptance of individuals for their differences. The quote on the bridge left a strong impact on the buyer, making this a very special piece for her. More personal touches were added to this work, such as setting the clock’s time to the days of her children’s birthdays and colouring the sky to symbolize the pride flag.
This piece is a celebration of life for Blaine’s grandfather, who was a fisherman in Newfoundland. This is the first painting done in Katie’s new studio in April 2020. Katie added hidden touches, a female figure in the mountains and toilet paper rolls on the net at buoys.
